NASW-SA to Hold Conference

The first independent conference of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW-SA) was held from 28 to 30 September 2011 in Durban. The theme of the conference was “Repositioning Social Service Professions for a Developmental State.” The main objective of the conference was to reflect on the value adding role of social services professions, mainly social workers in contributing towards building and achieving the objectives of the developmental state


CWSA National Executive Director, Ashley Theron, who is also the National Treasurer of the (NASW-SA), led the CWSA delegation that attended the conference. Ashley also presented a paper at the conference called “NGOs in Crisis: How to Turn Around Your Organisation”.
