NASW-SA TO HOLD CONFERENCE

The first independent conference of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW-SA) was held from 28 to 30 September 2011 in Durban. The theme of the conference was “Repositioning Social Service Professions for a Developmental State.”

CWSA National Board Meeting

The CWSA Board, made up of volunteers involved in their local Child Welfare organisations met for its mid-year meeting on 5 and 6 August 2011. This was the Board’s third meeting hosted at our new offices in Edenvale.

The MTN Awards

The MTN Awards adjudication and prize giving ceremony was held on 11 and 12 August 2011 in Mpumalanga. The MTN awards serve to inspire and motivate learners to achieve in the areas of mathematics, science, literacy, arts and culture and economic management sciences.

CWSA Western Cape hosted visitors from the Royal College of Defence Studies, led by Col Jerry Heal the Defence Adviser at the British High Commission in South Africa.

CWSA Benefits from Mandela Day

CWSA has benefitted immensely from generous support of volunteers on Mandela Day. Most of the assistance was rendered in the Mpumalanga and the Western Cape provinces.
