The National Association of Social Workers, South Africa - NASW (SA) was founded at the National Social Work Lekgotla, held in Gauteng on 13 and 14 September 2007, which was graced with the presence of over 650 social workers.
NASW (SA) is planning to hold the first independent Conference of the National Association of Social Workers, South Africa from 20 -25 September 2011. The possible venue for the conference is the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre (ICC) in Durban.
This is the biggest conference of its kind in the developmental welfare services sector as it is hoping to attract 5 000 social services professionals. This conference is a demonstration of the results of teamwork when professionals of the sector meet and capitalize on synergies rather than differences. It is envisaged that this will be a ground breaking experience that redefines conferencing of professionals. The conference will see the movement from ‘talk show’ and field visits to programme of action, design and fieldwork.
All stakeholders are invited to the intellectually stimulating debates of the conference that are supplemented by side talks of Public-Private Sector Partnerships.
