October is Social Development month, a month that is close to hearts of many Social Service professionals. It was for this reason that Child Welfare South Africa held an event to celebrate the month; the event was held on 29 October 2010 in Sasolburg.
The event was used as a means to acknowledge the work that is done by our member organisations, either by volunteers or professionals. The aim was to create an enabling environment for Child Welfare member organisations in the Free State to come together, market their services and showcase their progress. This would be achieved by mobilising other service providers in the Fezile Dabi District to join CWSA and render services to the members of the community.
Most importantly however, CWSA wished to express its gratitude for the commitment and hard work done to make a difference in the lives of others.
CWSA would also like to thank the Department of Home Affairs and the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) who assisted the community with legal documents, as well as social grants.
