In partnership with Thokomala Orphan Care Organisation, Child Welfare continues to provide care and support to orphaned and vulnerable children through our community based foster care programme. Through the financial support of Thokomala, CWSA and its member organisations serving the Kagiso, Thokoza, Actonville, Marselle, Humansdorp, Virginia and Paarl communities, have established 7 foster care homes.

This office experienced a challenging yet exciting year. As with many other NGO’s financial resources were few but the organisation turned its energies towards developing positive relationships with local businesses, organisations and churches.
Through these relationships not only did the organisation access additional resources such as food and clothing but were also able to broaden service delivery through the identification of families and children in need.
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, GloCell has selected Child Welfare South Africa (CWSA) to be one of its major beneficiaries. The funds and resources that Glocell raises on behalf of CWSA are meant to assist the organisation in its undivided support for children in South Africa.
In its contribution, GloCell has developed a mobile site (www.cwsa.mobi) that contributes money towards CWSA every time the CWSA song One Heart at a Time is downloaded. One of the co-authors of the song is a GloCell employee, Sue Smit.
