In January 2011 allegations were lodged against CWSA: Stilfontein regarding the trafficking of children for the purpose of adoption. This matter was escalated by the Department of Social Development, Women, Children and People with Disabilities in the North West province to the High Court, and a curator ad litem appointed on the 15 April 2011 to investigate and represent the interests of the children identified by the complainant.
