Events, promotions & campaigns

Special events, promotions and campaigns bring in much needed income and are a valuable tool in creating awareness around the services of Child Welfare. At national level these include:

  • Pick‘n Pay Bakery Division Hot Cross Bun promotion
  • ABSA World AIDS Day promotion. This generated funds for essential commodities for existing families in the CWSA HIV and AIDS programme.
  • Foschini - 16 Days of Activism Campaign.
  • Three Cities Hotel Group, a partnership aimed inter alia at ending child prostitution and child trafficking.
  • Your Baby Magazine contributed generously to Child Welfare to commemorate the 100th edition of their magazine.
  • "God Bless the Child", CD launch of our Ambassador, Nataniel and an income generating opportunity for CWSA member organisations.
  • KZN Gala Dinner, a fundraising event steered by the President of Child Welfare South Africa, Professor D Chetty. The most notable guest speaker was the former president of Mozambique and most recent speaker was one of the former Ministers of Transport, Mac Maharaj. This model event is replicated in other provinces with success.
  • CWSA was the beneficiary of the launch of Barclaycard and the launch of a celebrity art project – and the Barclaycard launch was covered by Top Billing on SABC TV3. At a later event paintings by 50 celebrities were auctioned.
  • Debit order campaign where individual donors are encouraged to donate through our debit order system
  • SMS campaign

And, provincially, CWSA fundraising projects include - a motor cycle rally, music festival, Women’s Day teas, Valentines Ball, AIDS event with part proceeds to CWSA, fun runs, golf days, polo days, soccer days and medley evening – to name a few.
