CWSA Core Business

The core business of the CWSA National Body is to mentor and support member organisations and emerging community group initiatives for vulnerable children and families. CWSA assist members in balancing the requirements of service delivery with good governance and the constitutional and legal requirements needed for an NPO. In this regard it must be remembered that management and service volunteers, committed to the welfare of children, steer the work of CWSA and place great value on the guidance, information and training that the National Body provides. Altogether in excess of 6000 volunteers assist CWSA programs.

4 Our Children Coalition Project

Child Welfare South Africa (CWSA), the ECPAT International partner in South Africa is implementing a project funded by the Human Development Foundation (HDF) with the goal to combat the challenges of Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC). This is through strong, sustainable and effective multi-stakeholder and multi- sectoral actions. The project aims to build strong, sustainable and effective national coalitions that will lead to a reduction in the sexual exploitation of children in South Africa. The Objective is to strengthen key stakeholders in South Africa through targeted collaboration and capacity-building, aimed at increasing their ability to mobilise strategic and influential stakeholders and partners in an effective, coordinated and holistic actions to address child sexual exploitation in the country.
